Since the Gallagher Amendment passed in 1983, Colorado school funding has gone from on par with the national average to one of the worst in the nation. In Eagle County, we rely on community donations and volunteers to help maintain high-quality schools within a world-class resort community. With your help, E•ƒ(ec)’s mission is critical to paving the way for better schools fueled by student success.
E•ƒ(ec) is a volunteer, people-fueled organization. There are many ways to support excellent schools in Eagle County beyond making a monetary donation. Anyone who values public education from students to community members are embraced for their commitment of time. Simply get involved.
NEW – School Site Representatives
We are looking to build a team of Site Representatives. The team will include a minimum of one representative for each school to keep us connected and to support each school community’s needs. Contact Amy Lewis if you are interested in representing your school to our Board of Directors.
Join a Committee
Our organization is comprised of community members, ECS parents, and non-ECS parents with skills relevant to running a 501(c)(3) fundraising non-profit. We value people with a variety of skills – such as program management, marketing, communications, investment and finance. If you are interested in sharing your expertise through committee work, please contact Matt Scherr, Chair of our Nominating Committee. Committees include: Programs, Fundraising, Finance, Events, and Advocacy.
Volunteer for an Event
Project Funway in February is our main fundraising event of the year and it’s by far the most unique event in our community. Contact Megan Aguilar to help. We celebrate outstanding educators and staff at Evening of Stars in May; and raise funds for nine elementary schools within the district in September at Wild West Day and Wild Wine Tasting. These events require hundreds of hours of volunteer power, for jobs big and small. Contact Amy Lewis for more info.
