KC Somers

Dr. KC Somers became superintendent of ECSD in June 2026. Before that, he led Peoria Unified School District in Glendale, Arizona, serving a student body of about 35,000. From 2019–2024 he was superintendent of Lewis-Palmer School District 38 in Monument. He is experienced in organizational leadership, raising academic proficiency through aligned instruction, and creating inclusive school communities via partnership and cross-agency collaboration. He also has a track record addressing staffing shortages and cost-of-living challenges.

Dr. Somers holds a bachelor's degree in psychology from Notre Dame, a master's degree in instructional technology from American Intercontinental University, and a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Phoenix. He began his career as a school counselor and progressed into school and district administration.
