The Education Foundation of Eagle County is pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications for the Play Like Lily Fund, which supports coaches and physical education teachers in advancing athletic initiatives throughout Eagle County.

 

Established in memory of Lily Sage DeMuth, this fund honors her vibrant life, her passion for sports, and the values she embodied as a player, coach, and friend: kindness, teamwork, joy, and inclusion. Play Like Lily strives to give children across Eagle County the lasting impact of sports, starting in elementary school and continuing throughout their school years.

 

We invite all ECSD coaches, PE teachers, and team volunteers to apply for funding to support, enrich, expand, or initiate programs that help students thrive through sports.

 

Our selection rubric places particular emphasis on initiative-based proposals — programs that create meaningful experiences, build team culture, or expand access — rather than requests focused solely on supplies. That said, don’t hesitate to apply for essentials like uniforms or community-building basics; we know that looking and feeling like a team builds pride and belonging. For high school sports equipment or supply needs, we ask that you reach out to your booster club first. We're especially excited to support programs that reach students who might not otherwise be exposed to core, school-based sports due to economic or cultural barriers.
