Science Olympiad for ECSD Schools

Congratulations to Marjorie Olyer, Valerie Roberts, and the Eagle County School District’s Science Olympiad recipients of the EFEC Classroom Grants, including Berry Creek Middle School, Homestake Peak School, Eagle Valley Middle School, Gypsum Creek Middle School, and Battle Mountain High School. Your hard work and innovation are lighting the way in science!

Science Olympiad is a national non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of K-12 science education, increasing male, female, and minority interest in science, creating a technologically literate workforce, and providing recognition for outstanding achievement by both students and teachers.

This year's events include Anatomy and Physiology, Tower, Crime Busters, Experimental Design, Disease Detectives, Entomology, and many more. Throughout the learning stage, students independently learn about their events; some events involve building, some events are labs, and others are tests. Finally, all students learn the scientific process. Students then transfer their learning into their science classrooms.
