Tom Boyd

Tom Boyd is a current Eagle County Commissioner, beginning his four-year term in January 2025.

Tom was born and raised in West Vail, and currently lives in Edwards with his wife, Renee, and their two boys, Tyler and Alex. He began his career in journalism, becoming editor of the Vail Trail and writing for various publications in the Rockies, such as the Rocky Mountain News and Denver Post, covering a variety of topics, including land development, politics, water, sports, and the outdoors. During his journalism career Tom also worked as a venue press chief at the Torino and then Vancouver Winter Olympic Games, along with other international sporting events, and returned full-time to the Eagle River Valley in 2015 to serve as Director of PR and Communications for the Vail Valley Foundation.

Tom has served as Chair of the Eagle County Lodging Tax Marketing Committee, Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Eagle River Coalition, and on the Executive Team that helped draft the Eagle County Climate Action Plan. He also coaches ice hockey and led the effort to build an outdoor ice rink in Edwards.
