Real Life Gym Class for RCHS

Congratulations to Sara Strobing and the Red Canyon High School gym class for gaining real-life gym and training experiences with an EFEC Classroom grant!
Grant Need: “In order to graduate high school, students must complete credit in physical education. Unlike the bigger high schools, we have no designated gym or equipment. Currently, we are teaching physical education to all of our students with a handful of donated yoga mats and our imagination…
We would like to provide a physical education class that will set our students up for lifelong health. We teach our classes so that they model "real world" fitness experiences. That way, students are able to take that knowledge and feel comfortable walking into a fitness class anywhere. The goal is that this exposure to yoga, barre, pilates, and weights classes will help students find something that interests them and will be able to pursuit it now and in the future. This exposure will hopefully build a pathway for them to create relationships and community wherever life takes them.” - Sara
